Well like I said the antibiotics we request WORKED! Jude is on room air, and rather than keeping him the extra week like they anticipated they are talking about letting him go tomorrow. Unfortunately, Jude threw up AGAIN tonight. They fed him, and hours later he threw up. That means the tube must be inserted yet again. This is where Mike finally said "It's up to you guys, I have had enough today" who can blame him, right? He got a bit teary on the phone for the first time, and asked what he will do if Jude keeps throwing up at home. He said "We don't have nurses rushing in the change sheets, and pull out tubes". I responded that "we just manage". I dealt with Emily for TWENTY one days with a water born parasite. The poor girl was either throwing up, or the other. I literally changed sheets three times a night until she went into the hospital. It was a nightmare, but we pulled through. I know this is a different situation, but still. I think I became immuned to puke, and poop. Although, Jude has to have nutrition, and so far he hasn't had any since Friday. All we need is hydration for awhile, but stop and think how hungry you would be if you had not kept anything down for almost five days.
I know this tube will sustain Jude's life, and provide him with the nutrition he needs. I am thankful that he will have the calories needed to keep him healthy. I do however need a bit of time to adjust. I am not thanking the heavens, and falling down with gratefulness yet, but I know I will be. Be patient with me people, I am a work in progress.
I am unsure if they will let Jude go since he threw up again. I am hoping he can come home because I miss his smiley face. I am ready to play peek a boo with him again, and just hold him while I sit on the couch.
I am also ready for Mike to be here to answer Emily's math questions, I am NOT a math person!!! I literally had her call Mike at the hospital tonight.....I think I need to repeat 6th grade (insert perplexed look here).

I have been reading all the updates. Still praying everything goes ok.
Mama knows best! You were right a bout those antibiotics.
The throwing up won't last forever. And now that you know Juders is having trouble swallowing, he will be even healthier moving forward.
My prayers are with you and your family and Jude. Jude may be aspirating now but it can change. Remember, no one can ever can say never. Doctors get stuff wrong all the time. A top San Francisco surgeon a few years back took out part of my Dad's colon because there was growth and he told my Mom and I that it was cancer for sure. He said he did hundreds of these operations and he was 99.999% sure and that we should prepare for the chemo etc. He called my folks 3 days later in total disbelief because it was a begnin growth. So much for that! God bless!
Good luck. We don't have a feeding tube but EVERYDAY we struggle with food, eating and calories. My sister's son has a tubie. As you get use to it she has had a MUCH easier time keeping meds down and getting her son fed. There is no longer a fight. I hope things get ok quickly
