Well Jude made such a turn around last night that they are talking about discharging him today directly from the PICU to home!! hooray!!!!! I am so happy! My little fighter did it again. They have booked us a nurse for Sunday, and they are working on one for Saturday. This will make us feel more secure since there will be someone trained tending to Jude's surgery sites, and watching Jude's vitals.
The bloodwork did show his seizure medication level was to low, so we assume that is from the use of the generic medication. Right now the neurologist is keeping his medication the same, but wants to see Jude in three weeks.
We are currently having the house scrubbed with bleach to kill any lingering bacteria from the staph (per doctors orders). So now I just have to figure out my schedule here at work, getting Emily, and getting to the hospital to pick my boys up.

That is GREAT news. Well done Jude.
That is one thing about staying at the hospital is that they will give generic drugs unless you request brand name. Sometimes they don't have the brand name or so they say so they will ask to use your home meds once they get it approved by the pharmacy. If no generic is available they will give the brand name.
Oh ask the nurses for extra bags for the feeding pump before you leave you can never have enough.
Great news indeed! So glad to hear he's doing so well. I know it will be such a relief to have him back home.
