A full weekend

So this weekend was busy busy. On Friday Emily had her end of the year pool party. If you remember, Emily and I played Betty Crocker and baked a pie for the city fair. Anyway, we won second place and our choice or prizes. Emily decided on the free pool party at the community pool. I had never ventured to the pool before, and was very impressed with how large it was.

The park had their water slide going, and a full staff of lifeguards. Emily, and her friends had a wonderful time. By that time I was delirious from lack of sleep so I laughed with the other parents, about being up all night. Mike stayed home with Jude, and tried to rest a bit.

We got stuck in race traffic on our way home, and just as mommy was about to burst into tears I saw a break. I broke free into our neighborhood, and we raced for home. Emily burst through the doors tired, and hungry. I sat her down at the table, and laughed at her devouring some food.

I already blogged about our adventures on Saturday and our quest for the perfect birthday gifts. Since I was a bit discouraged with our experience I worked with Jude on keeping his head up. We do that anyway, but I felt inclined to work with him a bit more that day. He was rather fussy, but would keep his neck straight for a moment.

Then it would drop, but he tried. We can tell he is getting more frustrated with this.

Saturday night Emily marched off to Great Wolf lodge with her birthday present in hand. Her friend Jessie had invited her to her party, and to spend the night at the great hotel. If you are not from Texas, Great Wolf is an amazing hotel with a huge waterpark inside. I am rather protective of Emily so the idea of her going to a large water park scared me. Mike promptly told me to get over this fear because there are lifeguards at every turn. So with a bit of reluctance I let her go, but I knew she would have a great time. Mike and I then took Jude to his moms house, and met some friends for my cousins birthday. We ate at a local Mexican restaurant, and then we headed to a small bar with a nice patio to listen to some music. The picture is rather blurry, and my eyes are a bit droopy from some wine, but here we are!

We have aged in the past year from the impact Jude's stroke has had in our lives. Mike has more gray, and I just look tired.

I am sure there is no need to tell you that the entire family was exhausted on Sunday. We had family pictures from the Littlest Heroes Project at 6:30, but until that time this is how everyone looked at my house.

Jude's spasms, and seizures have increased. He woke up with a very stuffy nose this morning so I am positive it's because he isn't feeling well. He also decided he wanted to have play time at 2:30am again. So we did follow doctors orders, and increase his medication to 3ml last night. We are keeping a record of all of Jude's behavior since the increase.

I mentioned that we had pictures with the littlest hero project last night, www.littlestheroesproject.org. Tiarra at Little Faces Photography volunteered to do our family photo's, and capture Jude's little hero inside. You can see her website here http://www.littlefacesphotography.com/, and her blog here http://www.littlefacesphotography.blogspot.com/. We got a look at a few of the images she took, and besides my crazy hair they look amazing. Jude is not easy to capture because of his issues with his head, so I was super excited she got some shots! Plus Mr Jude was NOT HAPPY we woke him up to do photo's, and he let us know about it. Right before the session ended he decided to start smiling (of course). The photographer was great, patient, and kind. She spent a lot of time discussing photographer shop with Mike, and he was so excited to have someone speak his language. I am looking forward to seeing the proofs, and I will be sure to post some here.

littlestheroesproject.org is a great cause for child photographers, sadly they are not accepting photographers from PA at this time. But I am a member of the American Child Photographers Charity Guild (you can google)... I hope the session went well...
