I heard of parents who had twins and only took the healthy child home. the other little guy lived at the hospital for a while and only the Dad would come to see him. He was later moved to a hospital home. Its sad when this happens.Bronx Cataldo'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00690890704919059565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-55257336929631879392009-12-16T22:12:26.590-06:002009-12-16T22:12:26.590-06:00Our family is the "someone else" family ...Our family is the "someone else" family that was chosen to care for our girlie. We are a foster family and have cared for many kiddos, but honestly never dreamed we would walk this walk, yet we are totally smitten and in love with our little girl who has rocked our world and given us so many new experiences. Anyways, it is more true than people realize how many kiddos need someone else to step in and provide the basics when a birth family can't do it or chooses not to do it. I feel totally blessed to get the chance to be her mom!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-23588262810375652812009-12-16T20:23:35.078-06:002009-12-16T20:23:35.078-06:00We had one of those on our floor--the baby without...We had one of those on our floor--the baby without a family. Mom did stop by one day--to complain because she'd been contacted about her "child abandonment." She was complaining in the elevator to the rest of us--like we didn't have our own problems.Katyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02189007616883663434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-79820563231700103942009-12-16T19:01:19.181-06:002009-12-16T19:01:19.181-06:00I found that to be true at the children's hosp...I found that to be true at the children's hospital where Gage was. I never thought that such things happened. Also, there are infants whose parent(s) take them home and don't take care of them and they end up back at the hospital until CPS takes over. There are even homes for kids on ventilators whose parents would not take care of them. I guess some think that if their baby is not perfect then the answer is to either destroy them or leave them for others to take care of. Sad, very sad.Vickinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-72695436449286109732009-12-16T17:53:29.905-06:002009-12-16T17:53:29.905-06:00Your words are so true if a parent is willing to l...Your words are so true if a parent is willing to leave their babies behind just like that then those babies belong to a better home. Our babies are a gift and many parents long to have a child but because of different issues do not get the opportunities to have children, and want them so bad. God sends them to us just the way he wants us to have them. So to all the parents with children with special needs I commend you for that.gildanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-78047879406101158152009-12-16T17:33:50.792-06:002009-12-16T17:33:50.792-06:00That sends chills down my spine too right to my to...That sends chills down my spine too right to my toes. I never knew of my daughter's disabilites until after she was born and couldn't image not having her with me. It is scary seeing your new baby so sick but there is so much love it is unimaginable to walk away.Sherry Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17320106277509509294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8581317431133132518.post-5371126739617351082009-12-16T15:36:52.631-06:002009-12-16T15:36:52.631-06:00Ohhhh, that sends chills down my spine!
